What does this qualification cover?
The final grade is achieved from 40% Exam and 60% Coursework
The content of this course is broken down in to the following four units:

- Engineering Disciplines
- Applied Science and Mathematics in Engineering
- Reading Engineering Drawings
- Properties, characteristics and selection of materials
- Engineering tools, equipment and machines
- Hand-drawn engineering drawings
- Computer-aided design (CAD) engineering drawings
- Production planning techniques
- Applied processing skills and techniques
What’s included?
The Level 1/2 Technical Award in Engineering is designed for learners who want an introduction to engineering that includes a vocational and project-based element. The qualification will appeal to learners who wish to pursue a career in the engineering industry or progress onto further study.
Key Features
• The course follows the NCFE LEVEL 1/2 TECHNICAL AWARD IN ENGINEERING. More information can be found on the NCFE website
• It covers broad range of engineering skills including, CAD, electronics, mechanical engineering, maintenance and fabrication.
• This qualification provides an excellent base for progression to a range of Level 3 engineering qualifications and also into employment and apprenticeships
• This is delivered via a blended mix of workshop and classroom activities, with an emphasis on practical activities

Learners could progress into employment or onto an apprenticeship.
The understanding and skills gained through this qualification could be useful to progress onto an apprenticeship in the engineering industry through a variety of occupations that are available within
