Welcome to our careers and FUTURES area…

Careers and Futures take centre stage at UTC Reading. Through our vision of transforming lives through learning, our students will be well prepared for the world of work and their future. We have designed a bespoke programme of learning focused on careers and futures for each year group that provides our students with a range of opportunities to engage with employers and specialist trainers to really enhance their skills, knowledge and attributes in preparation for adult life.

Quality in Careers Standard

UTC Reading initially achieved the Career Mark, Quality in Careers Standard in May 2018 and were re-accredited with this Standard in October 2020.

Assistant Head of School – Careers, Futures and Employer Engagement

Stephanie Mitchell

Stephanie is Assistant Head of School – Careers, Futures and Employer Engagement at UTC Reading and is otherwise known as the Careers Leader. Stephanie is in the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and leads the careers team to deliver all elements of the UTC Reading Careers and Futures (CAF) Programme. 

Stephanie has successfully passed her Level 6 qualification in Careers Leadership and has also led the college to achieve the Career Mark. Stephanie has been at UTC Reading since September 2016, and has a passion for diversity in STEM, partnering with WISE to encourage more females to take up a career in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths, as well as the Arts. 

A firm believer in learning through creativity, Stephanie also teaches subjects such as Product Design and Architecture.
