Students celebrate A Level and BTEC results

Year 13 students are celebrating after picking up their A Level and Level 3 qualification results, securing them places on prestigious degree apprenticeships and university places.   

The school, which recently celebrated its 10-year anniversary, was pleased with the results, reflecting students’ hard work and focus, and the teaching staff’s commitment to their outcomes. 

A Level: 

  • 5% of all grades were A* – A 
  • 21% of all grades were A* – B 
  • 43% of grades were A*- C 
  • The average A Level grade was a D+ 

 

Technical subjects:   

  • 41% of all grades were D*D*D*/DDD in BTEC L3 Extended Diploma in Engineering 
  • 23% of all grades were D*D*/DD in BTEC L3 Diploma in Engineering 
  • 71% of all grades were D*/D in BTEC L3 Extended Certificate in Engineering 
  • 83% of all grades were at least a Merit with 11% of students achieving the top grade of D* in all BTEC L3 Engineering and Information Technology Qualifications 

Several of our students have landed apprenticeships and degree apprenticeships at prestigious firms including BAE Systems, Cyrus One, and AWE. 

­­­­Students have also gained places on sought-after courses at universities including­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­: Queen Mary’s University, Portsmouth University, Royal Holloway University, Nottingham University, Aston University, Surrey University and City University.  

Headteacher Jas Kallah, said: “Another set of great results for our students here at UTC Heathrow, we wish them all the best for the future! The students should feel proud of the work they have put in and these results will help them move on to their desired destinations”  

Notable achievements include:  

  • Ibrahim Arain – D*D*D* L3 Engineering, going on to Queen Mary’s so Study Mechanical Engineering 
  • Amarpreet Lalli – D*DD L3 Engineering going on to Queen Mary’s to study Mechanical Engineering 
  • Max Kotlarz – A –  Maths A Level, B – Computer Science A Level; C – Physics A Level going on to Royal Holloway and Airbus 
  • Muhammad Ali Amiri – D*D* L3 Engineering and C Physics A Level, is going on to Middlesex University to study Computer Systems 
  • Avinash Uthayakumar – D*D L3 Engineering and B Maths A Level, going on to University of Surrey to study Aerospace Engineering 

UTC Heathrow students have all secured their next step on their career journey, but we continue to offer information, advice and guidance to anyone who changes their mind or would like additional support after their post 16 studies.
