Bright futures ahead as UTC Heathrow students receive A Level and vocational results

Aug 13, 2026

Year 13 students are celebrating today after receiving their A Level and vocational qualification results, with many securing places at leading universities, prestigious apprenticeships and exciting career pathways.

Students collected their results alongside friends, family members and staff, marking the culmination of years of hard work, determination and personal growth. The atmosphere across the college was one of pride and celebration as students looked ahead to the next stage of their journeys.

This year’s results highlight the strength of our technical education offer and the dedication shown by students throughout their studies. Students achieved an impressive set of results across our engineering and technology qualifications:

  • 22% of all grades were DDD/DDD* in the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Engineering
  • 67% of all grades were DD/DD in the BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Engineering
  • 75% of all grades were at least a Merit, with 13% of students achieving the top grade of D* across all BTEC Level 3 Engineering and Information Technology qualifications

In A Level Mathematics:

  • 30% of grades were A to B*
  • 40% of grades were A to C*
  • 100% of grades were A to E*

Headteacher Jas Kallah congratulated students on their success.

“Today is a day to celebrate the achievements of our students and recognise the hard work, resilience and ambition they have shown throughout their studies. We wish them all the best for the future.

The students should feel proud of the work they have put in, and these results will help them move on to their desired destinations.”

Among the highest-performing students were:

  • Ethan N and Morgan S, who both achieved DDD in the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Engineering
  • Dean E, Ibrahim I, Pierce R and Rayhan S, who each achieved D*DD in the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Engineering

Students have secured places at a range of respected universities, including:

  • Brunel University

  • University of Nottingham
  • City University
  • University of Sheffield
  • University of Bristol
  • Royal Holloway, University of London
  • Loughborough University

Others have chosen to begin their careers through apprenticeships and degree apprenticeships with leading organisations, including British Airways, Vertiv and the Royal Air Force.

Student Reflections

Students also paid tribute to the staff who supported them throughout their time at UTC Heathrow.

Ethan N said:

“Thank you for being there when I needed help. I very much appreciate it!”

Ibrahim I said:

“Thank you to every teacher that taught me these last two years. I have had a blast!”

Finley P added:

“A big thank you to every teacher that taught me. You have all played a massive part in arguably one of the most important parts of my life.”

While many students have already secured their next destination, UTC Heathrow continues to provide advice and guidance for those still considering their options, ensuring every student receives the support they need as they prepare for the next chapter of their education, training or career.

Congratulations to all of our Year 13 students on their achievements and best wishes for the future.
