UTC Heathrow opened its doors to prospective students at the first Open Event of the academic year

On Wednesday 17 October, UTC Heathrow held its first Open Event of the academic year for prospective students and their parents to take a look around the school and get a feel for life at a UTC.

The event, which ran from 5.30 to 7.30pm, saw visitors taking a tour through the facilities and departments, led by a UTC Heathrow student or staff member, offering up first-hand experience of their time at the school, along with the chance to ask any questions.

Visitors were able to see live demonstrations in the science department, as well as witness the ‘Build a Plane’ project in the engineering workshop.

Visitors were then guided to the main hall for a talk from Executive Principal, Joanne Harper, Assistant Principal, Jasmit Kallah and Business Relations Manager, Mike Halliday. The presentation included key information about how a UTC is different to traditional education and the curriculum, as well as information on the new Pipeline Programme and how the industry partnerships work.

Thank you to all who came along. We hope you are considering us for a September 2019 start.
