Prospective students get a glimpse of UTC life at November Open Event

On Wednesday 21 October, UTC Heathrow opened its doors for prospective students and their families, who took a look around the school and got a real feel for studying at a UTC.

The Open Event ran from 5.30 to 7.30pm, with visitors touring the departments and the state-of-the-art facilities. Both UTC Heathrow students and staff members led the tours while providing first-hand experience of their time at the school. Visitors also enjoyed live demonstrations in the science and engineering departments.

The event ended with a presentation from UTC Heathrow Principal, Wayne Edwards, and Business Relations Manager, Mike Halliday. The talk comprised of key information about how a UTC differs from a traditional school, its curriculum, current students’ work experience within industry partnerships, as well as the introduction of the new Pipeline Programme, which offers KS5 students the chance to work with leading companies to develop the key skills needed to become work-ready.

From UTC Heathrow, we want to thank all those who came along, and we hope you are considering joining us in September 2019.
