You may have noticed that we have a shiny new logo and a slight name change…
That is because as of 1 September 2018, we have officially joined the Activate Learning Education Trust (ALET) and become UTC Heathrow.
The ALET is a Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) established by Activate Learning. It delivers excellence in education and transforms lives through learning by providing exciting and innovative education for young people.
We join three other UTCs already in the Trust (UTC Reading, UTC Oxfordshire and UTC Swindon), as well as a Studio School (Bicester Technology Studio) and two comprehensive schools (The Bicester School and Theale Green School).
Although our logo may look slightly different, our specialisms and foundations remain the same; we are still a UTC specialising in aviation engineering and still remain focused on delivering a first class education in an environment that feels like the workplace. But we now have access to an array of experience and new resources, and the opportunity to collaborate with other like-minded institutions, to further enhance our school and give our students the best learner experience.
Wayne Edwards, Principal of UTC Heathrow, said: “This is a great opportunity to continue the outstanding education that is already provided and work with ALET schools to improve this further.”
